PC-over-IP (PCoIP) is a proprietary protocol for remote workstation and desktop solution, designed and developed by Teradici.
I'm not going to go into what PCoIP is, there are plenty of great documents and blog posts out there already giving great in depth detail about the protocol. If you want to read more, here are some great resources:
I've been working a lot with PCoIP within VMware View environments and I've noticed there is very little information available about the protocol. So I've decided to put together all of my knowledge and often knowledge of others onto a trilogy of pages for you to reference.
As there is quite a bit of information to get through I have decided to split PCoIP into four sections:
- PCoIP Troubleshooting – Part 1 (PCoIP Log Viewer)
- PCoIP Troubleshooting – Part 2 (Real-Time/WMI PCoIP Stats using the Log Viewer)
- PCoIP Optimization – Coming Soon
- PCoIP Best Practices – Coming Soon
These pages will also be a work in progress. PCoIP is still relatively new and I am continually learning how it works and how we can make it work for us. So please stop by regularly to check for updates.
